On 22 April 2020<\/span><\/strong>, we organized another\u00a0<\/span>Alumni<\/strong>\u00a0Online Network Meeting<\/strong>\u00a0to reconnect with the Aspen Central Europe community, learn about\u00a0the initiatives and experience across the network, inspire and support each other. This time, we looked at initiatives focusing on the topic of\u00a0<\/span>Small and Medium Businesses<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>with a special focus on\u00a0<\/span>Solidarity and Reinvention of Strategies<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>arising as a response to the current situation. We discussed\u00a0several examples of how online campaigns can support small brands and businesses, how technology and apps are changing the way we shop, and highlighted\u00a0the positive examples of helpful activities. <\/span><\/p>\n

The kick-off remarks were made by\u00a0<\/span>Olga Bure\u0161 Vrb\u00edkov\u00e1<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0who initiated\u00a0a campaign\u00a0<\/span><\/span>#malynakupvelkapomoc \/ #shopsmallhelpbig<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>supporting small brands in the current uneasy situation, which aims, among other things, to teach people about alternatives to shopping.\u00a0A great number of brands and shops are involved in the campaign, which is truly making a difference in their income and survival.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next speaker was\u00a0<\/span>Pavl\u00edna Lou\u017eensk\u00e1<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>who talked about the new app\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Call to shop<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0which reacted to shop owners missing human contact with their customers. In the times of the pandemic,\u00a0shop owners can talk to and help their customers \u00a0with selecting the right items and purchasing through video-calls.\u00a0Pavl\u00edna is also active in the community of over 21k people\u00a0<\/span><\/span>#holkyzmarketingu<\/span><\/span><\/a>, which she founded. They are helping those who lost jobs in the current crisis and matching them through algorithms with vacant positions, being successful in matching these companies with applicants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The last kick-off speaker was\u00a0<\/span>Sara Boutall<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>who introduced her new project which she joined alongside another AYLP alumnus<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Patrik Jur\u00e1nek<\/span><\/span><\/a>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Startup Disrupt<\/span><\/span><\/a>, which is centralizing and bringing together all the start-up initiatives in the Czech Republic.\u00a0Her second project is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Spojilo se \u010cesko<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0(cooperating together with AYLP alumni\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Josef M\u00fcller<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Valery Senichev<\/span><\/span><\/a>) in which they aim to collect all the stories of the success and failures of the pandemic efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the\u00a0following debate, we discussed the situation in Poland with\u00a0<\/span>Alessandro Tofani<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/a>,<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>curator and board member of Polish Global Shapers Warsaw Hub working on the development of the local community. The participants also\u00a0emphasized the importance of our mental health and taking care of ourselves, misinformation and also the lack of information\u00a0and translations for international\u00a0communities.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
