Germany\u2013V4 Forum Warsaw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Tough questions asked and inspirations found in Warsaw<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On June 22nd and 23rd, the Aspen Institute Central Europe, together with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aspeninstitute.de\/?lang=en\" rel=\"noopener\">Aspen Institute Germany<\/a> organized the second event in the framework of Germany\u2013V4 Forum. The workshop held in Warsaw \u2013 a follow-up of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspeninstitutece.org\/news-article\/what-europe-do-we-want-germany-v4-forum-in-prague\/\">Prague gathering in March 2017<\/a> \u2013 was organized in a partnership with the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) and Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW), and was attended by thirty experts, officials and thinkers from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Germany.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"cs\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Germany+<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/V4?src=hash\" rel=\"noopener\">#V4<\/a> Forum in Warsaw discussing cohesion, solidarity, EU neighborhood, values &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/mekron?src=hash\" rel=\"noopener\">#mekron<\/a> w\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AspenGermany\" rel=\"noopener\">@AspenGermany<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OSW_pl\" rel=\"noopener\">@OSW_pl<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PISM_Poland\" rel=\"noopener\">@PISM_Poland<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lhn294K42k\">pic.twitter.com\/lhn294K42k<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Aspen Institute CE (@AspenInstCE) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AspenInstCE\/status\/878150090757730304\" rel=\"noopener\">23. \u010dervna 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the Germany\u2013V4 Forum is not only to look for specific policy recommendations, but also to promote better understanding of each other&#8217;s perceptions and to ensure that differing voices are heard and taken into account in an effort to enable new and inspiring ways of approaching issues of our common future. During the Warsaw meeting, we focused on four inter-related topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The EU common values and their translation into policies and institutions;<\/li>\n<li>Cohesion and Solidarity and the Future of the EU;<\/li>\n<li>German-French White book on the Future of the EU;<\/li>\n<li>European neighborhood \u2013 enlargement policy, transition support and development aid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following presentation of representatives of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various aspects of the regional <em>Three Seas Initiative<\/em>\u00a0were discussed.<\/p>\n<p>Notwithstanding the challenging agenda of the workshop, a mutual engagement and a will to move forward emerged as palpable sign of positive centripetal energy that resides within the region.
