Ruth Girardet has over twenty years of professional experience in corporate responsibility\u00a0and corporate ethics. She has a wide knowledge of the charity and corporate sectors, and
\nhow they can work together to address issues of social justice.\u00a0Ruth is currently a non-executive Director of the Open University, the UK\u2019s largest open\u00a0access university with 175,000 students. She is also training as an Executive Coach with the\u00a0Tavistock Clinic, which uses a systems psychodynamic approach to help senior leaders\u00a0understand and address the personal and organizational dynamics that impact on their\u00a0effectiveness.
\nBefore this, Ruth was CEO of the social justice charity Just for Kids Law (2016\u20132018),\u00a0and Group Corporate Responsibility Director at Tesco Plc (2007\u20132013), the world\u2019s third largest retailer. Her brief\u00a0included delivering the company\u2019s Climate Change commitments globally, running the Charitable Trust, and\u00a0formulating company strategy across a wide range of governance and ethical issues, including animal welfare, labor\u00a0standards and supply chain sustainability and ethics. Ruth grew up in Berlin and studied Philosophy, Politics, and\u00a0Economics at Oxford University. In addition, she holds a degree in Social Sciences from Humboldt University Berlin. She\u00a0lives in London with her husband and three children.<\/p>\n
