V4 Innovation Policies
How do people get new ideas?
During the 2016 Economic Forum in Krynica Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo announced that during the Polish Presidency in the Visegrad Group a meeting of innovators would be convened. Indeed, at the end of March 2017, Warsaw welcomed a number of entrepreneurs, policy experts and politicians, who met at the the CEE Innovators Summit to discuss V4 cooperation in this area. During the event, prime ministers of the Visegrad group signed Warsaw Declaration on mutual cooperation in innovation and digital affairs.
Both as a preparation and a follow-up to the Summit, our Institute organized a series of four informal meetings where innovation policies and ideas for cooperation projects were discussed. The first meeting took place in Warsaw ahead of the Summit, three other took place in Bratislava (April 18), Prague (April 27) and Budapest (April 28).
As part of the project we have prepared a brief comparison of innovation policies and research & development statistics in the Visegrad countries. You can download the overwiew: Research, Development & Innovation in Visegrad Countries (pdf).
