Jiří Kulhánek is a Czech politician and educator, originally by profession a teacher. He became the youngest head of a district office in Chomutov in 1993. From 1998 to 1999, he served as a member of the supervisory board of the Regional Development Agency of the Ústí Region. In 2002, he was elected as a representative and mayor of the town of Kadaň and became a member of the statutory bodies of several municipal companies. He has been the Deputy Governor of the Ústí Region for social affairs, socially excluded areas, and security since 2020. He has also served as the Chairman of the commission for the municipal heritage reserve and development, member of the committee for social and socially excluded areas, and member of the working group for the upcoming Affordable Housing Act. He has additionally acted as the Vice-Chairman of the Association of Historical Sites of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.
