Filip Košťálek
FILIP KOŠŤÁLEK is artistic director of Colours of Ostrava, one of Central Europe’s most influential multi-genre festivals. Starting as a festival temp, he has risen to become a central figure in its production and programming. Each year, he scouts more than 400 bands live, often traveling across Europe and Asia to bring fresh voices and diverse sounds to the festival’s stages. In addition to the music lineup, Košťálek curates the international program of the Meltingpot forum, which brings together leading thinkers, innovators, and cultural figures. His role ensures that the festival is not only about music but also a meeting point for ideas and cross-cultural dialogue. His work has been recognized internationally: in 2024, IQ Magazine named him one of its New Bosses; in 2025, he became the first recipient of the European Festival Awards “New Kid on the Block”; and in the same year, he was listed in Forbes 30 under 30. Beyond Colours, he contributes to Czech Music Crossroads and Festival v ulicích, further supporting cultural exchange and the development of new talent.
