Filip Rak

Filip Rak is an attorney based in Warsaw, specializing in criminal law, including white-collar crime, cybersecurity, and corporate investigations. He is also a dedicated human rights advocate focused on advancing LGBTIQ rights through legal, political, and social change. His work spans advocacy, litigation, and policy reform.

He is a frequent speaker at human rights conferences and a member of the International Bar Association, serving as an officer of its LGBTQI+ Law Committee. From 2021 to 2022, he worked as a lawyer in the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights, contributing to high-impact cases, including litigation against Poland’s so- called “anti-LGBT” zones. In collaboration with intersex NGOs, he is working to develop a legislative framework for intersex rights and has helped secure key data from the Ministry of Health on surgeries performed on intersex minors.

As a human rights lawyer, he has defended environmental and civil rights activists and led legislative reform, ensuring that domestic violence perpetrators could still be evicted during the COVID-19 lockdown. His work earned him 1st place in Rising Stars 2023 by Wolters Kluwer and recognition as Poland’s 23rd most influential lawyer in 2021.
