Professor Alexander Stubb is the Director of the School of Transnational Governance. Between 2008 and 2016, he was part of several Finnish administrations – as Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for European Affairs and Trade. Prof. Stubb worked as an advisor at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Helsinki and Brussels and was involved in negotiations of the Treaties of Amsterdam, Nice, and Lisbon. He holds a Ph.D. degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and was a visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. Prof. Stubb is the author of a number of books and scholarly articles, and publishes columns in several periodicals, including the Financial Times.
