Braňo Tichý has been focusing his work on the issues of poverty eradication, international development and human rights for over 15 years. He received his Master’s degrees in Psychology and Social Sciences. He has served for the UN, focusing on the interlinkages between development and transitional justice. In his later work for Amnesty International, Braňo managed the program of support to independent human rights NGOs around Europe and Central Asia. Between 2015 and 2019, he led the largest Slovak humanitarian organization People in Need Slovakia as its Executive Director. In 2020 – 2021, Braňo was involved in the work of a Slovak political movement “Progresívne Slovensko”, both in the national election campaign of 2020 and as a Secretary General of the party. He is currently working as a consultant, strengthening the work of NGOs, political parties and candidates and international organizations in the area of strategic communication, campaigning, and advocacy.
