
Daniela Werbeniec
DANIELA WERBENIEC is the Director of the Digital Forum at the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers in Warsaw, Poland, where she works with startups, industry leaders, and public institutions to shape digital policy that drives innovation while protecting democratic values. Her work centers on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the ethics of technology governance.
Her career bridges the worlds of media, technology, and civil society. At Google, she supported public policy strategies as part of the Central and Eastern Europe team. At Łukaszewicz & Partners, she advised leading technology companies on innovation strategies, helping them align business goals with an evolving digital landscape.
Earlier, at the Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Poland’s leading liberal daily, she led strategic communications and helped develop the Investigative Journalism Initiative, the first program in Central and Eastern Europe to offer legal and financial support to investigative reporters. She also co-created the School of Editors, a training program designed to strengthen journalistic integrity and critical thinking in the age of disinformation.
An Aspen Institute Leaders alumna and Humanity in Action Senior Fellow, Werbeniec holds degrees in media economics, governance, and digital law. She was named to the International News Media Association’s “30 Under 30” list and believes that ethical leadership lies at the intersection of policy, technology, and empathy, ensuring that innovation serves people, not the other way around.
