RUDOLF OPATŘIL joined Aspen Institute CE in February 2026 as a program manager for administrative reform and financial director. He is primarily responsible for office work cooperation and budget preparation. He is co-founder of the Jagello 2000 Association, the main Czech subject of public diplomacy in the field of security policy and membership of the Czech Republic in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, but it also participates in projects focused on the European Union. The main goal of the association is to raise awareness among the general and professional public about security policy and transatlantic relations.

Rudolf has 30 years of experience in foreign policy; he worked as an commercial counsellor at diplomatic missions – for example in Poland and finally in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the early 1990s, he was a member of parliament, he was the vice-chairman of the committee for public administration, regional development, and the environment.

He graduated from the Technical University in Brno, specializing in hydraulic structures. In the free time, he enjoys archaeology, specifically the Silesian Paleolithic.
