Karel Řehka

Army General KAREL ŘEHKA has served as the Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces since July 1, 2022. Reflecting his leadership and service, he progressed rapidly through the general ranks: he was promoted to Major General on June 22, 2022, Lieutenant General on May 8, 2023, and attained the highest military rank of Army General on May 8, 2025. Prior to his current command, he held the civilian position of Director of the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) from March 2020 to June 2022. His extensive military and allied command experience includes serving as the Deputy Commander of the NATO Multinational Division Northeast in Elbląg, Poland (2017–2020), Director of the Special Forces of the Czech Armed Forces (2014–2017), and Commander of the elite 601st Special Forces Group (2010–2014).
