Klára Kolouchová

Klára Kolouchová is the first Czech woman to summit the three highest peaks in the world. After climbing Mt. Everest (8.848 m) in 2007, Klára stood in 2019 on top of two eight-thousanders! The sacred Kanchenjunga (8.586 m) and soon after on the magical yet ruthless second highest mountain K2 (8.611 m). Born in Prague, but not exactly baptized by the peaceful Vltava river, Klára climbed her first eight-thousand-meter peak Cho Oyu (8.201 m) back in 2006 along with Tashi Tenzing, grandson of the renowned Tenzing Norgay. Her list of conquered peaks also includes the highest mountains of the continents such as Aconcagua (6,959 m), Mt. McKinley (6,094 m) or Elbrus (5,642 m). Klara’s last expedition to Dhaulagiri (8.167 m) took place in spring 2021, but more on that in person soon. Klára is married and has a daughter, Emma, and a son, Cyril.
