Marie Gottfriedová is a long-time principal of the Trmice Primary School which excels in inclusive education. She has been awarded the Roma Spirit Award for her contributions to the education of Roma children, and serves as chairwoman of the Society for Saving the Church in Trmice – FIAT VOLUNTAS TUA. In 2013, the Society bought the Trmice church to prevent the church and its furnishings from being sold off. Thanks to the activities of the association, the church now serves liturgical and cultural purposes. Marie is also involved in local politics – she has been a local representative in Trmice since 2002. She also stood as an independent candidate for the European Parliament on the candidate list of the Club of Committed Non-Partisans, where she received the highest number of preferential votes, although she did not win a seat in the end.
