Peter Stračár has been the CEO for GE in Central and Eastern Europe since January 2013. Central Europe is not only an important growth region for GE, it is also a major technology, engineering and manufacturing location for the company. Prior to joining GE Peter worked for the Hilti Corporation, where he completed his 18-year-career as President of the Asia-Pacific Region based in Hong Kong. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineer­­­i­­­­­­ng and Computer Science at the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia. His career at IBM Eastern Europe started shortly afterwards. Mr. Stračár also actively supports GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders program. The program provides scholarships to Central and Eastern European students who show talent in management, engineering, and economics.
