Ruth is an expert on migration, human trafficking and the protection and assistance of vulnerable migrants and internally displaced persons. She graduated in sociology and development studies/Eastern European studies from the University of Vienna and holds an MBA from the European University Viadrina. She has worked for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) since 2006 and was deployed among other places to Georgia, Ukraine and Mozambique. She has recently returned from Mozambique, where she supported the humanitarian response following the tropical cyclones Idai and Kenneth. Before joining IOM, she worked in event management and migration research. When she is not working, Ruth dances Argentinian tango, travels and reads.
