The digital economy

The digital economy represents a tremendous opportunity and challenge for the future of
the Czech Republic and the entire region of CEE. In the “traditional“ industrially oriented
economy of the Czech Republic, the digital economy has increasing added value for
competitiveness. This will continue only on the condition that it develops and supports local
knowledge, people, and businesses, rather than merely adopting global trends. Crucial to
this is collaboration across sectors relevant to this type of economy and understanding the
various barriers that need to be dismantled for further prosperity of the Czech economy as a
whole.
