Igor is the founder and longtime director of One World, Europe’s largest human rights documentary film festival. Igor has been involved in the activities of People in Need (Člověk v tísni) since 1992. At the beginning, he participated in humanitarian missions in Bosnia and Chechnya. He developed the People in Need Information and Communication Department and was later head of the Human Rights and Democracy Department.

After ten years at the helm of the One World festival, Igor handed over his responsibilities to a new generation and moved to Thailand and Burma where he organized comparative political science courses for former political prisoners.

Igor is currently a Program Director at the Prague Civil Society Centre focusing on the East European region, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
