Matúš is the President and Co-Founder of Urban Interventions, a non-profit organization focusing on urban public space, which aims to rejuvenate the urban environment through social, architectural and community involvement and participation. In 2004, after working in London, he co-founded the Vallo Sadovsky Architects studio in Bratislava. He graduated in architecture from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. In the past, Matúš also undertook research on Architectural Activism at Columbia University in New York as a Fulbright Scholar.

Currently, Matúš is the Mayor of Bratislava.
