Michal was born in 1983 in Karlovy Vary, but grew up in Prague, where he now lives. He graduated in 2008 from the Czech Technical University in Prague. He joined Avast in 2006 as a part-time malware analyst and has been growing with Avast ever since, holding leadership positions in both the Viruslab and B2B engineering organizations. Since Dec 2020, he is overseeing teams responsible for systems related to Avast customers as the VP Engineering, Customer Management. Michal loves outdoor activities, namely mountain biking, alpine skiing and traveling. During university, he made several bike-packing trips to the Alps, Turkey, Morocco, Norway and other locations with friends. His three kids are among his greatest sources of happiness, and he loves to watch them grow. Since 2015, he has been actively promoting men’s health through the Movember movement, leading the Avast team to raise tens of thousands of dollars for cancer research and prevention.
