Silvie Lauder

Silvie Lauder studied journalism in the faculty of social sciences at Charles University. However, she received her real journalistic education in 2004 when she started working for a weekly magazine called Respekt, after spending three years in Lidové noviny, a daily newspaper published in Prague.

Since the beginning of her career she was mainly devoted to domestic politics. Throughout her career she witnessed around twenty congresses and meetings of political parties, nearly the same number of elections (if we take into account all senate elections too) and a total of eight government changes. Due to the unavoidable exhaustion from writing about Czech politics for years, Lauder wrote about different topics as well. She wrote about politics of different societies in different countries.

She has reportages from Bhutan, Island, Poland, Belgium, France, Ireland and Greece, which have all been published in Respekt magazine in Prague.
