Vasil Kostin is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University and an Honorary Researcher at Oxford University, specializing in Artificial Intelligence applications in Ophthalmology. His work in MedTech/HealthTech was recognized by Forbes Magazine’s 30 under 30 list, the Young Leader SDGs Awards, and World Summit Awards. Additionally, he received a highly competitive grant from the Czech Technology Agency – GAMA2, distinguishing him as the youngest successful applicant.

He is the main founder of the Summer School of Ophthalmology, which attracts candidates from top universities in Europe. Beyond entrepreneurial ventures, he has participated in humanitarian missions in Kenya and collaborated with Doctors Without Borders on 3D printable insulin pens. He remains dedicated to advancing medical retina and implementing AI methodologies at the Harvard Ophthalmology AI Lab.
