Zuzana Roithová is a physician, manager, and politician with extensive experience in top management and high-level politics. She took part in the creation of the Civic Forum, initiated the establishment of the Czech Medical Chamber, and is one of the founders of the Association of Czech Hospitals. She served as the head of the Královské Vinohrady University Hospital. In 1998 she was named Minister of Health Care in Josef Tošovský’s government and was elected to the Senate. She joined the KDU-ČSL party where she served as a deputy leader 2001-2003 and again from 2014. She was a Member of the European Parliament between 2004 and 2014 (Vice-Chairwomen of The Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection).
