Martin Kroupa

Martin Kroupa is a Czech journalist, philosopher, and cultural figure dedicated to preserving historical memory. Since 2015, he has served as the Chairman of the Board at Post Bellum, an organization dedicated to recording historical narratives, where he also oversees the regional branches of Memory of Nations. He studied philosophy at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague.

In 2005, he joined Czech Radio as an editor, contributing to the acclaimed project Stories of the 20th Century, which documents personal testimonies of historical events. He also worked at the Ministry of Defence, issuing certificates of anti-communist resistance and opposition. In February 2022, Martin Kroupa co-founded and continues to coordinate the “Help Ukraine with Memory of Nations” initiative, providing aid to those affected by the war. He is also a board member of Skupina D, where he contributes to the organization’s efforts to support Ukraine by providing FPV drones to its military.
