Society 4.0: European resilience in the 21st century

Opero

Opero and the Aspen Institute Central Europe invite you to the next part of the debate series Society 4.0, which as always will address one of the key issues of modern times.

Europe is the world’s largest market and a place of prosperity, stability and social peace. But what will – and should – be its role in the changing global order in the coming decades?

Current developments suggest a shift towards great power rivalry and zero-sum logic. The conflict in Ukraine has shown that Europe cannot effectively protect its borders without US support. It is behind the United States and China in the development of technology – especially artificial intelligence – and in the race for space dominance.

How can Europe strengthen its resilience and autonomy in key areas of the future? What is its ambition, vision and real ability to influence global events in new domains of power? And what agenda should it pursue in the coming decade?

Discussion:
Jakub Landovsky (political scientist, director of the Aspen Institute CE)
Monika Ladmanová (Head of the European Commission Representation in the Czech Republic)
Jana Matesová (economist, formerly World Bank)
Michal Pěchouček (cyberneticist, professor at CTU, Evolution Equity investor)
Kateřina Štechová (Senior Public Policy Manager CEE, Amazon)
