Matthew Heibel

Geopolitical Consultant

MATTHEW HEIBEL joined the Aspen Institute Central Europe in May 2025. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame (2004) and a juris doctorate from Pace University School of Law (2007). As a practicing lawyer, he served as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the United States Air Force (2008-2012). After his service, he worked as a sexual assault prosecutor in the US territory of Guam (2012-2017) and the state of Alaska (2018-2024). Currently, Matthew is pursuing a masters degree in geopolitical studies at Charles University in Prague. He is using those skills to serve as a geopolitical consultant for Aspen.
