Martin Štěrba

MARTIN ŠTĚRBA is the Executive Director of United Islands of Prague, one of Central Europe’s most dynamic urban music festivals. Since joining the team in 2022, he has focused on shaping the festival as both a celebration of music and a platform for dialogue on social change. Professionally, Martin has spent his career in marketing, media, and communications, with leadership roles in major media houses such as TV Nova, Economia, Empresa Media, and Seznam.cz. Since 2013 he has specialized in online marketing, directing social media teams for the City of Prague, TV Barrandov, and Stream.cz, and co-founding the digital platform MALL.TV. He has led campaigns for brands including Adidas, Hyundai, Bohemia Chips, and Škoda Auto, and worked on projects ranging from the redesign of MAM.cz to the visual identity of the Czech-Tunisian Chamber of Commerce. Beyond media, Martin served as an adviser to the Mayor of Prague during the COVID-19 pandemic and the onset of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and is active in local politics as a councilor for Prague 8. He brings to United Islands a strong belief that festivals can inspire communities, strengthen democracy, and spark change.
