Marie Polášková
Marie is a CBT therapist and PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology, with a focus on evidence-based interventions for anxiety. After graduating from the University of Oxford, she began working at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), where she contributed to a UNICEF implementation project before going on to lead the “Bez obav” project, a parent-led intervention for anxious children originally developed at Oxford and now being tested across Czechia. As part of this work, she collaborates with insurance companies to help ensure the intervention becomes sustainably accessible to families in the long term. She has research experience from the University of Reykjavik and teaches at the Department of Psychology in Prague while also facilitating mental health trainings for the NIMH and independently. Despite focusing on child mental health in her work at the NIMH, she works primarily with adult clients in her private practice. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys long hikes, hosts a podcast about relationships, and performs improv theatre.
