Danuta Hübner

Dr. DANUTA HÜBNER is an economics professor and a prominent politician with three decades of experience shaping the European Union. During her 15-year tenure in the European Parliament, she chaired the Committees on Constitutional Affairs and Regional Policy, served as rapporteur for major capital market legislation, and played a key role in EU-US relations, Brexit negotiations, and Ukraine’s EU accession process. Previously, she served as European Commissioner for Trade and Regional Policy. A central figure in Poland’s democratic transition, she held several key governmental roles. As Minister for European Affairs, she successfully spearheaded Poland’s accession to the EU. Furthermore, she served as Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Head of the Chancellery of the President, and internationally as UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe.

Currently, Dr. Hübner is a Distinguished Fellow at the Atlantic Council, a Board member of Aspen Institute CE, collaborates with several European think tanks, and acts as a Senior Advisor at KREAB Brussels.
