Petr Jonák

Petr Jonák is a member of the Board of Directors of the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic, the leading umbrella business association in the country. His current focus areas include sustainability and European Union affairs.

He graduated from the University of Economics in Prague and completed an executive leadership program at IMD Business School.

Petr began his career in media, spending five years at the Czech News Agency’s economic desk and later working as the agency’s correspondent in Brussels. From 2006 to 2009, he worked at Škoda Auto, focusing on government affairs and corporate social responsibility (CSR). He then joined the investment group BXR, where he led public affairs and corporate communications, and held senior management roles in portfolio companies such as the freight transport group AWT and the mining company NWR. From 2016 to 2024, Petr played a key role in transforming public affairs, corporate communication, and sustainability at three major companies: Coca-Cola HBC, T-Mobile, and Sazka.

Passionate about bridging different worlds, Petr has held various non-business roles, including serving on the supervisory board of the Aspen Institute Central Europe and as Chairman of the Board of the OKD Foundation. He was also a member of the Czech Government’s National Economic Council (NERV) and contributed to the development of two national competitiveness strategies.
