How can public institutions regain trust in the digital age?

We are living through an unprecedented wave of technological change that is reshaping the very foundations of how states and communities function. While algorithms, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms have brought greater efficiency, they have also contributed to fragmentation of the public sphere, rising polarization, and the erosion of shared reality. At the same time, trust in traditional institutions is declining, and governments and legacy media struggle to keep pace with the dynamics of the digital era.

Join the discussion to explore how public institutions can rebuild legitimacy, whether data and algorithms can strengthen democracy—or undermine it—and what concrete steps are needed to build a resilient, cohesive society where innovation serves the public interest.
