Milan Vašina, Executive Director of Aspen Institute Central Europe, has decided to embrace a new opportunity and become Head of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Milan for his invaluable contributions to Aspen Institute Central Europe and we wish him the very best in the next chapter of his career.

Milan Vašina took on the role of Executive Director at Aspen Institute Central Europe in May 2020. “My decision to resign is related to the fact that I have been offered the role of Head of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic by President Petr Pavel. It is both a huge honor and a significant commitment, which I have accepted  with all humility and after careful consideration. The past four years at Aspen Institute Central Europe have been immensely fulfilling and rewarding. Promoting democratic values and fostering open dialogue in our region is a crucial mission that I am committed to supporting even going forward,” Milan Vašina remarked regarding his decision.

Ivan Hodáč, Founder of Aspen Institute Central Europe, expressed his best wishes: “I congratulate Milan on his appointment to his new position, a natural progression from his years of managerial experience and strong commitment to promoting a democratic society and fostering trust within it. I deeply appreciate his ability to support and recognize the work of his team, as well as in expanding Aspen Institute CE’s activities more internationally.“

Pavel Řehák, President of the Board of Directors, also expressed his gratitude and congratulations: “Milan is an experienced manager who grounds his leadership in values such as honesty, ethical conduct and respect. In his role as Executive Director of Aspen Institute CE, which focuses on values-based leadership, he has not only been a representative, but also an embodiment of these principles. We wish him every success in his future endeavors.”
